Japan: Work to begin on 5.2 MW PV project

Sanko Real Estate Co. Ltd, Solar Frontier and Chiyoda Corporation are gearing up to begin work on a 5.2 MW photovoltaic plant in Japan’s Ise City, Mie Prefecture.
While Sanko will operate the Ise Futami Megasolar Hikari no Machi plant when complete, Chiyoda will undertake construction and Solar Frontier will supply around 32,300 of its thin film CIS photovoltaic modules.
Work is scheduled to begin this month. The first phase is expected to be operational in April, and the second, in August. It will be built across 7 hectares.
"It is planned that the plant will be equipped for use by local people in times of emergency power outages with electrical outputs connected to storage cells that will be permanently charged by solar power. In addition, educational facilities for elementary and middle school students in the region will be built," added Solar Frontier in a statement released.
